NANS SOUTHWEST COMMENDS GOVERNOR BIODUN OYEBANJI FOR HIS EXCELLENCE IN STUDENTS' WELFARE AND SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION IN EKITI STATE

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone extends its heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, for his exemplary performance in prioritizing the welfare of students in the state.

We commend Governor Oyebanji for his remarkable commitment to youth and student inclusion in governance. The allocation of subventions to registered youth and student organizations in Ekiti State is a welcome and highly commendable development. This initiative reflects the governor’s unwavering support for the well-being of students, aligning with NANS' mission to advocate for policies that promote students' welfare.

Furthermore, we acknowledge the tireless efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Youth, Hon. Gold Adedayo, whose facilitation has ensured the smooth execution of these policies. The efforts of both the governor and the commissioner are a testament to their dedication to youth empowerment and development in Ekiti State.

In addition, we are pleased to commend Governor Oyebanji for the recent increment in the subvention to tertiary institutions in the state. This vital step will undoubtedly ease students’ access to quality education and contribute to the overall improvement of educational welfare in Ekiti’s higher institutions. We believe this increment will enhance the learning experience, foster academic excellence, and improve facilities within our tertiary institutions.

As the NANS Southwest leadership, under the leadership of Comrade Owolewa Taiwo, continues to prioritize students' welfare, we remain committed to supporting governments that actively include students in their developmental agenda. We firmly believe that students are the future of this country, and as such, their welfare and development must always remain at the forefront of governance.

We call on other state governments within Southwest region to emulate the positive example set by Governor Oyebanji and prioritize the welfare of students as part of their core development strategies.
