NANS Southwest Condemns Ondo Bandit Attack, Urges Stronger Security Measures

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone D, under the leadership of the Coordinator, Comr. Owolewa Taiwo, extends our heartfelt sympathies to the families and communities affected by the recent bandit attack in Ondo State, which tragically claimed the lives of at least 20 individuals. This brutal and senseless violence is a reminder of the need for greater security measures across our communities.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Ondo State during this difficult time and strongly condemn this attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted by this tragedy.

In light of these unfortunate events, we call upon all Southwest state governors to be more vigilant in securing our borders and communities. The safety of our students, citizens, and future leaders must be a priority, and it is crucial that we act proactively to prevent such tragedies from recurring.

We also implore all security agencies to intensify efforts in safeguarding our communities. We cannot afford to be complacent in the face of rising insecurity. We urge a more coordinated response from security forces to address the growing threat of banditry and other forms of violence.

Finally, we advise our students and all citizens to adopt the mindset of If you see something, say something. Vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities can significantly contribute to the safety and security of our communities. Let us all be responsible and united in the fight against insecurity.

We remain committed to the safety and well-being of our people and will continue to advocate for a safer Southwest.
