NANS Southwest (ZONE D) Demand Swift MTN Tariff Reversal or Face Shutdown in Southwest

The leadership of NANS Southwest (Zone D) led by the Coordinator, Comr. Owolewa Taiwo urges prompt action to protect student welfare.

The Leadership is calling on JCC Chairmen in Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos to engage MTN offices and demand the reversal of the recent tariff increment within 14 days. Failure to comply may result in a shutdown of MTN offices in the region.

The letter goes thus;

To: All JCC Chairmen, NANS Southwest States (Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos)

Urgent Call to Engage MTN Offices on the Unjustified Tariff Plan Increment

Dear Comrades,

I hope this letter finds you well. As you are all aware, the recent increment in the tariff plans by MTN has become an unbearable burden for Nigerian students across the country, particularly in the Southwest region. Given the current economic hardship facing the masses, this sudden and unjustified price hike has added more strain to the already difficult circumstances students are enduring.

In line with the core mission of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to stand up for the welfare of students, we, the leadership of NANS Southwest (Zone D), led by the Coordinator, Comr. Owolewa Taiwo, call on all the NANS JCC Chairmen in the states of Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos to take immediate action by engaging the MTN offices in their respective states regarding this issue.

We are demanding that MTN reverses this tariff increment within the next *14 days*, as it is unjustifiable, especially considering the hardship students are facing. Failure to comply will leave Nigerian students with no choice but to escalate the situation, which may include a complete shutdown of all MTN offices across the Southwest region. This is a step we do not wish to take, but we will not sit idly by while the welfare of our fellow students continues to be compromised.

Action Plan
1. Each JCC Chairman is hereby mandated to visit the MTN office in their state and formally register the protest of students regarding the tariff hike.
2. A written statement should be submitted to MTN demanding an immediate and full reversal of the increment.
3. Kindly ensure that a copy of the letter and the outcome of your engagement is sent to the Southwest leadership of NANS within the stipulated 14 days.

We are counting on your active participation and prompt response to this urgent issue. The leadership of NANS Southwest Zone is fully committed to ensuring that the voices of students are heard and that justice is served. Together, we can ensure that our rights are respected, and the burdens on our students are reduced.

Thank you for your dedication and cooperation.

Yours in the struggle,

Signed:
