NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS, NANS SOUTHWEST, ZONE D.
Press Release
On behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest (Zone D), led by the dynamic and passionate Comr. Owolewa Taiwo, we extend our deepest appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the historic commitment to the education sector in the 2025 Federal Budget. The allocation of N3.5 trillion to education is a monumental step towards building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria, and we are thrilled to witness such a forward-thinking approach to governance.
President Tinubu's pledge to earmark a significant portion of the national budget—N3.5 trillion—for the education sector underscores the administration's recognition of education as the cornerstone of national development. It is a clear indication that the government is prioritizing the needs of our future leaders by investing in the quality of education, improving learning infrastructure, and ensuring that educational opportunities are accessible to all.
At NANS Southwest, we have consistently emphasized the importance of quality education as the bedrock upon which the future of our nation must be built. Comr. Owolewa Taiwo, as the Coordinator of Zone D, has continually advocated for better funding, improved conditions in schools, and a focus on making education more inclusive and effective for every Nigerian student. The generous allocation made by the Federal Government brings hope and aligns with our mission to create an environment where every student can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the progress of our society.
This N3.5 trillion investment will be pivotal in ensuring that educational institutions across the country are properly equipped with the necessary tools, technology, and skilled staff to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. It will also help to tackle issues such as inadequate infrastructure, outdated curricula, and the growing demand for quality teaching and learning materials.
We also applaud President Tinubu's recognition that education is a key driver of economic growth and social mobility. This funding will not only improve the quality of education but also reduce unemployment, empower young Nigerians with critical skills, and reduce the economic gap across regions. It will ensure that future generations are equipped to take on global challenges with confidence and competence.
NANS Southwest under the leadership of Comr. Owolewa Taiwo are fully committed to working alongside the government, educational bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure that this budget allocation is utilized efficiently and effectively. We call for transparency in the implementation of projects, ensuring that these funds directly benefit students, teachers, and institutions across the country.
This is a win for Nigerian students and the nation at large. We are confident that with this bold and visionary allocation, Nigeria is on its way to becoming a global leader in education and human capital development.
Once again, we commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this decisive action and his unwavering commitment to uplifting the education sector. This is a crucial step towards realizing a better and more equitable Nigeria.
